in conjunction with the 2024 IEEE International Conference on Artificial Intelligence x Data & Knowledge Engineering (AIxDKE)
IEEE HCAI 2024 - Int Workshop on Human-Centric AI:
Developing and Applying Computational Models for Better
Decisions
December 11-13, 2024
Hitachi Central Research Laboratory
Tokyo, Japan
in conjunction with the 2024 IEEE International Conference
on Artificial Intelligence x Data & Knowledge
Engineering (AIxDKE)
Overview
---------
With the rapid advancements in AI, there is increasing
interest in how AI can complement human judgment, improving
decision
quality, efficiency, and outcomes. This workshop will
focus on the development, analysis, and application of
computational models in Artificial Intelligence (AI) that
aim to enhance human decision-making processes.
The workshop will explore how AI-based computational models
can support human decision-making in various fields. By
combining Data & Knowledge Engineering (DKE) and AI,
this workshop will explore the intersection of computational
models, human factors, and decision science, fostering
discussions on how AI can be designed and applied to
optimize human decision-making.
The workshop, that will take place between 11 and 13
December, 2024 at the Hitachi Central Research Laboratory,
Tokyo, Japan in conjunction with the 2024 IEEE International
Conference on Artificial Intelligence x Data & Knowledge
Engineering (AIxDKE)(https://www.aixdke.org/) is a forum for
researchers, industry practitioners and domain experts in
the field of Knowledge representation, Artificial
Intelligence, Decision Support Systems, Machine Learning,
Ethics and AI.
Topics of interest
------------------
We invite contributions that focus on, but are not limited
to:
Computational models of decision-making.
AI-assisted decision-making frameworks.
Human-AI collaboration in decision-making.
Explainability and trust.
Generative AI for decision support
Bias and fairness in AI decision support: Addressing
potential biases in AI systems that assist human

Submission Guidelines
---------------------
Manuscripts must be written (4 pages maximum, all included)
in English and follow the instructions in the Manuscript
Formatting and Templates page given in AIxDKE 2024 website
(https://www.aixdke.org/submission) at the “Submission”
section.
Papers must be original and not be submitted to or accepted
by any other conference or journal.
Only electronic submission will be accepted. Technical paper
authors MUST submit their manuscripts through EasyChair
.
Manuscripts may only be submitted in PDF format. Each paper
will be peer-reviewed.
Papers submitted to the workshops for peer review should
consist of new unpublished work and papers accepted to the
workshops will be published in the workshops section of
the proceedings published by IEEE Computer Society
Press.
The authors of accepted papers must guarantee that their
paper will be presented at the conference (virtually or in
presence).
Every paper accepted MUST have attached to it at least one
registration at the full member/nonmember rate. Thus, for a
paper for which all authors are students, one student author
will be required to register at the full registration rate.
Authors are encouraged to submit an abstract (before the
abstract submission deadline) and update the abstract to a
full paper before the deadline of full paper submission.
