Introduction
The scope of this TFG is to work on
agent-oriented software engineering (AOSE) main challenges. These include
all the topics presented in the AgentLink II Roadmap and some others
proposed by TFG supporters.
In the first meeting (in Rome), the
TFG activity was divided in two different sessions: the first session dealt
with methodologies and MAS (multi-agent system) meta-models. In the second
session, we discussed about methodologies evaluation, ideas for future
activity of this TFG and future trends in AOSE. A large number of people
attended the two different sessions and a total number of 17 talks have been
presented.
The second AOSE TFG meeting (in
Ljubljana) was mainly devoted to the discussion of Multi-Agent Systems (MAS)
meta-models with the purpose of identifying a unifying meta-model that could
be considered as a common denominator for most of the existing approaches
and a basis for the development of the future new ones. The meeting was
organized in three sessions: talks about agent modeling and MAS meta-models,
discussion on the unified meta-model, planning of activities to be done
after this meeting and debate about topics to be included in the next one.
At the end of the meeting a MAS
meta-model including nine components (Agent, Cognitive Agent, Role, Task,
Environment, Organization), their relationships and definitions has been
draft. In the last session,
after a discussion, two main activities have been planned for the next
meeting: the completion of the work on the MAS meta-model and the study of
existing methodologies evaluation approaches with the aim of creating a
shared online repository of papers, methods, experiences, case studies and
success histories.
Main topics of the Budapest meeting
- Refining the MAS meta-model
defined during the Ljubljana meeting.
- Discussing methodologies
evaluation approaches, benchmarks, metrics, case studies and verifying
the possibility of starting a collaborative work for the identification
of a largely agreed framework. A
questionnaire will be used to evaluate the existing methodologies.
All participants are invited to participate in this evaluation
effort.
- Other topics can be included as
well if proposed by participants.
How to Participate
Four ways of participating to this event are
possible:
-
By answering the call for
contributions about a
specific MAS meta-model. Send a short text (up to 5 pages) describing the
meta-model to the TFG’s chair (see below) by Sept, 4th.
-
By sending a statement of interest in supporting an
activity about methodologies evaluation. If available, also provide some information about
useful case-studies, benchmarks, significant parameters and quality
indexes of design methodologies. We are particularly interested in
success stories on the field. Received statements of interest and
materials will be discussed during the meeting and will help in defining
the directions for the next TFG proposal. Send the
descriptive text in a file (raw text, pdf, ps or MS Word)
to the chair by Sept, 4th. We are collecting evaluations on
agent-oriented methodologies using a questionnaire. Please fill in it
and send to the chair by
-
By proposing a talk about any AOSE-related
topic. Proposals will be evaluated by the Program Committee and will be
scheduled only in a very limited number.
-
By attending the meeting.
Please send all contributions to
